CIPS Level 2 Certificate in procurement and supply
The Level 2 Certificate is ideal for learners who are just starting out in their career in procurement or if
purchasing and supply are part of their role. It will provide learners with the knowledge, skills and
understanding to enable them to recognise and describe the key processes in procurement and build their
professional knowledge and competence.
This qualification is designed for those working within the following typical job titles; Administrative assistant,
Purchasing assistant, Contracts administrator, Stock controller, Merchandiser. There are no age restrictions
relating to the qualification.
This qualification has been designed in conjunction with employers, study centres, higher education
institutions and other key professionals and stakeholders to ensure it is relevant to current working practices
within the procurement and supply sector. In addition, the content of the qualification is based on the CIPS
Global Standard for Procurement and Supply – a comprehensive competency framework to enhance an
individual’s procurement performance leading to excellent organisational performance.
Both the global standard and qualification are kept under regular review and updated when necessary to
ensure relevance is maintained.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification and therefore, the learner is not required to have any
prior professional qualifications or experience. Some unit exemptions or a bypass may be applicable under
the CIPS Exemption policy.

CIPS examinations for qualifications units are hand written and paper-based.
The following principles are adhered to when CIPS exam papers are developed:
· The unit content will be assessed through the use of the learning outcomes (LOs), and parts thereof, published within the unit content guides. All LOs will be assessed within every assessment.
· All LOs within a unit are weighted equally. The coverage of each LO within an assessment is equally weighted.
· All questions within an assessment are compulsory. There are no optional questions. All assessments are marked out of 100%.
· The standard of the assessment is set by the LOs within the unit content.

Examination pass marks: 75%
You must achieve 75% for each section (learning outcome) within the exam in order to pass
